In America The early performances of Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely have put her in the child prodigy category. It was an innate trait for a girl who was of Irish origin, and who was nurtured in her early years by talented family members as well as parents. Maureen was born in Ranelagh an area in Dublin the capital of Ireland on 17 August 1920. Marguerita LIlburn FitzSimons, the mother of her. She was a skilled contralto. The father of her, Charles FitzSimons, managed the business of Dublin and also owned part of the well-known Irish soccer club "The Shamrock Rovers." Maureen was the second child of six FitzSimons children - Peggy, Florrie, Charles B. Fitzsimons, Margot Fitzsimons and James O'Hara completed this beautiful family. Maureen did well in sports and enjoyed playing rough sports. Furthermore she was gifted for acting. She won almost all Feis Award for Theatre and Drama that her country had to offer. When she turned 14, she was admitted to the prestigious Abbey Theater and pursued her dreams of classical theatre and operatic singing.
